Job Description

Escrow Team Lead managing mortgage servicing escrow operations for LoanCare. Overseeing vendors, reporting, transfers, tax data, staff training, and special projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure escrow functions for mortgage servicing portfolio loans are performed promptly and correctly.
  • Monitor reports, escrow vendors, and activities, including open items and staff interactions.
  • Issue accurate Dashboard/SLA reports and ensure monthly escrow metrics meet or exceed goals.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to management and brief management on resolved items and accomplishments.
  • Train Escrow Department staff and promote mentoring and best practices.
  • Direct and oversee special projects, providing management with regular status updates and deadline risks.
  • Monitor and track corporate advances for tax penalties and inform management of expenses or potential losses.
  • Assist with ordering tax service contracts.
  • Prepare taxing authority due dates matrix.
  • Prepare monthly FHA portfolio comparison report and oversee completion of exceptions.
  • Add and maintain escrow payee headers.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound transfer activity and ensure deadlines for payments, data updates, tax contracts, and flood certificates are met.
  • Own data programming for escrow workstations for inbound transfers, including tax tables, payees, and insurance line mapping; analyze test-region output for accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of experience in mortgage loan servicing/lending; insurance company, escrow department, accounts payable, or accounting clerk/similar role may be acceptable.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Passport, and processing mass transaction files required.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities wisely.
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly, make sound decisions, and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume and time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers in a team environment to attain common goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and by telephone.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of taxing authority due dates, including delinquent and loss/reduction of discount dates, preferred.
  • Quiet, private place in the home.
  • High-speed internet connection with minimum network download speed of 25 MBPS and upload speed of 10 MBPS.
  • Ability to attend work and be productive during normal business hours and work early, late, or weekend hours as needed.
  • Overtime required as necessary.
