Job Description
Field Service Engineer providing onsite support for metrology instruments with Bruker Nano Surfaces. Joining the EMEA service team ensuring customer satisfaction and operational readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare installations by reviewing the system’s technical specifications and ensuring internal and customer-side technical and hardware prerequisites are met to complete the installation within the required timeframe
- Perform on-site system installation and deliver user training to the customer to commission the system in accordance with the specifications
- Carry out regular and/or preventive maintenance according to the defined protocol for the relevant system to meet compliance or contractual requirements
- Diagnose and rectify system malfunctions on-site and/or via remote access to restore the system to operational condition
- Maintain regular follow-up and build strong customer relationships to sustain long-term commercial partnerships
- Write external and internal activity reports and complete reporting in the company’s business software to ensure traceability of work and correct cost allocation
- Act as the liaison between factory experts and the customer to resolve complex issues
- Manage and monitor maintenance contracts
- Build trust to become an effective interface between the customer and Bruker, ensuring customer satisfaction and enabling sales of service contracts and new equipment.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering or materials science
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to understand complex electromechanical systems and strong technical problem-solving skills
- Experience using tools such as an oscilloscope and a multimeter
- Existing experience with nanomechanical instruments, white-light interferometry, 3D optical profilometers and/or stylus profilers is a plus
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently and to conduct user training
- Good IT skills
- Fluent in English
- Valid driving license for the EU/UK
