Job Description

Field Service Engineer servicing analytical equipment in laboratory settings. Delivering high customer service and supporting Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry instruments across Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Field Service-related duties in line with internal rules, customer regulations and health and safety guidelines.
  • Specific product support to be given on LSMS and Chromatography instruments (80%).
  • Work remotely providing on-site services exceeding customer expectations and ensuring that customers become promoters of our business through positive feedback.
  • Deliver the highest professional relationship with our customer base raising technical issues to quickly resolve critical tasks in the fastest way possible.
  • Follow our ethical business conduct guidelines.
  • Enable the customer's success through their partnership with Thermo Fisher Scientific.
  • Utilise web-based, sales lead logging tools to ensure customers are offered those products and services they require enabling them to meet their objectives (5%).
  • Optimize own work schedule by coordinating with all the required partners for service planning (Dispatch function, Team Leader, Manager) (5%).
  • Responsible for company assets including parts inventory, laptop computer, mobile phone, test equipment (ensuring validation calibration), tools, software, company car etc. (5%).
  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of activities including field service reports and expenses reports (5%).

Requirements:

  • Background in Electronics/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering or related subjects
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience servicing analytical equipment.
  • Knowledge of Mass Spectrometry, Liquid Chromatography or Gas Chromatography an advantage, but not essential
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to balance multiple tasks with different priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, self-motivational and negotiating skills.
  • Proficient levels of PC literacy.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Willing and able to travel 5 days a week within territory, Monday to Friday with occasional nights away from home.
  • Good English skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work across all levels, functions, and regions.
