Job Description
Fintech Program Manager designing technical integrations and onboarding direct banking partners. Supporting payments, compliance, and high-risk-industry programs for Stearns Bank.
Responsibilities:
- Design, standardize, and deliver technical integrations connecting direct partnerships to the Bank’s technology stack
- Lead integration architecture across the Bank’s core platform, APIs, file-based interfaces, and payment rails
- Develop integration designs, data mappings, solution documentation, technical specifications, onboarding playbooks, and integration checklists
- Define standardized integration patterns, file formats, delivery mechanisms, naming conventions, and validation conventions
- Coordinate partner connectivity, testing, validation, implementation plans, timelines, dependencies, and UAT cycles
- Own end-to-end technical onboarding and implementation from integration planning through go-live readiness and launch
- Coordinate third-party risk due diligence and account structuring
- Support ACH, wire, RTP, and FedNow payment-rail enablement
- Support partnership opportunities through technical feasibility analysis, business cases, and deal structuring
- Serve as ongoing relationship owner for assigned partnerships and conduct business reviews
- Represent Stearns Bank at selected industry conferences and events
- Execute ongoing oversight with Compliance, BSA, and Risk
- Advise partners on integration, compliance, operations, and growth expectations
- Support banking programs for cannabis-related businesses and other high-risk industries
- Work with BSA/AML teams on FinCEN guidance, SAR filing regimes, enhanced due diligence, and state licensing verification
- Monitor cannabis banking and high-risk-industry regulatory developments
- Support partnership development within the Salaam Banking Division as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in banking, fintech, or financial services spanning implementation, solutions/integration, program management, or partnership roles
- Demonstrated ability to design or coordinate technical integrations, including file-based interfaces, APIs, or data exchanges
- Ability to lead integration discussions with technical counterparts, with a clear trajectory toward owning integration architecture
- Ability to rapidly develop fluency in a new technology environment and translate that understanding into partner-facing solutions and standards
- Working knowledge of BSA/AML, KYC, third-party risk management, and payments concepts as they apply to bank partnership programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical and regulatory concepts to diverse audiences
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple concurrent partnerships and implementations
- Literacy in English
- Ability to travel as needed, estimated at 15–25%
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform the stated physical activities
- Required close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, with ability to adjust focus
