Job Description
Gear Project Manager leading switchgear projects for Colonial Electric, from specifications and pricing through customer approvals and shipping. Coordinating sales, vendors, technical teams, timelines, and project data.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the switchgear project team and ensure project success for the client and Colonial
- Serve as the customer-facing contact after order commitment
- Coordinate all project actions and timelines
- Read and review switchgear specifications and plans
- Request pricing and lead times from manufacturers and sales representatives
- Produce timely, comprehensive switchgear proposals
- Cost-estimate projects accurately and maximize sales and profitability
- Follow up with customers on quotes
- Evaluate existing blueprints and provide value-added service
- Review submittal approvals and update quotes
- Review drawing bulletins and addendums for switchgear changes and update quotes
- Increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships
- Collaborate with Sales and management on customer status, history, changes, potential, quotations, and strategies
- Enter data and communicate with customers and vendors
- Collaborate with the Project Management team throughout the project
- Stay current with new product information and emerging technologies
- Enter product details and shipping information into Jobtrack
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or similar major preferred
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Strong problem solving skills
- Gear, Lighting, Electrical, and/or Construction Project Processing is a necessary fundamental for the role
- Ability to use computing skills and knowledge to complete required job tasks
- Ability to understand technical product specifications and drawings
- Ability to understand and maintain project accounting
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately match and place information
- Communication and continuous follow-up
- Leadership
- High level of responsibility
- Coordination of all aspects of a project
- Ability to complete required assessments; only applicants who complete them will be considered
