Job Description

IT Lizenzmanager ensuring compliance with software licenses. Manage licenses and support IT, compliance, and procurement teams effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • You ensure that the use of software licenses in our company is automated, transparent, legally compliant and cost-effective.
  • You are the central contact for licensing matters and navigate confidently between IT, Procurement, Compliance and business units.
  • You manage and maintain our license inventories in a license management/SAM tool.
  • You monitor license agreements, entitlements, durations, notice periods and audit requirements.
  • You coordinate closely with IT procurement and technical IT teams on software acquisitions and deployments.
  • You prepare license reconciliations as well as compliance and management reports.
  • You conduct internal license audits and support external software audits.
  • You analyze and optimize license usage (e.g. reducing over-licensing).
  • You advise IT and business units on licensing terms, entitlements and compliance requirements.
  • You train and raise awareness among employees on proper software license handling.
  • You monitor market and licensing model developments (subscription, cloud, SaaS).
  • In addition, you contribute to the selection, implementation and continuous improvement of license management tools/processes.
  • You provide advisory support for contract drafting and vendor negotiations.

Requirements:

  • You have solid knowledge of common licensing models and experience with SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow or ServiceNow.
  • You are familiar with the licensing models and audit procedures of major vendors and have basic knowledge of software and contract law.
  • You are proficient with Excel, reporting tools and IT service management systems.
  • You have an IT-related qualification or degree and several years of professional experience in IT license management or SAM.
  • You work in a structured, careful and analytical manner and have a strong sense of responsibility.
  • You demonstrate strong communication skills, assertiveness and discretion when handling sensitive data.
  • You have very good German language skills, both written and spoken (at least C1).
