Job Description
Lead Finance Specialist preparing GAAP, statutory, and NAIC reporting for GE Aerospace’s reinsurance business. Supporting reconciliations, journal entries, controls, and audits remotely in the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare quarterly and annual Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financial statements
- Perform detailed analysis and prepare supplemental schedules and disclosures
- Prepare periodic NAIC financial statement schedules, exhibits, and other regulatory filings
- Prepare account reconciliations for GAAP and statutory accounting
- Prepare routine monthly and quarterly journal entries
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the accounting discipline
- Execute functional policy and strategy using prior experience and acquired expertise
- Support internal and external audits
- Drive US GAAP and Statutory accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence
- Deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis
- Apply understanding of key business drivers and how the team integrates with other teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Finance
- Insurance industry experience required
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
