Job Description

Lead Systems Administrator enhancing maritime intelligence solutions for a growing tech company. Responsible for IT lifecycle management, system configuration, and network infrastructure support.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the full employee IT lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding—ensuring new hires are productive on day one and systems remain secure, scalable, and lightweight as the company grows.
  • Design, deploy, and evolve cloud and SaaS systems (Azure AD, Intune, Jamf, AWS) with an emphasis on simplicity, automation, and scalability, making judicious trade-offs where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, manage firewall configurations, VPN (Fortinet / OpenVPN) and AWS Server setups, and ensure secure and efficient network operations.
  • Oversee the configuration and management of security tools, including email security solutions, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Defender, and log management systems.
  • Create and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficient operations.
  • Provide responsive, solution-oriented support while proactively identifying recurring issues and eliminating root causes through automation or process improvement.
  • Manage and deploy system patches and updates to maintain security and functionality across all devices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in IT system administration, with a focus on user account management, system configuration, and network infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure Active Directory, SharePoint, Intune for Windows, Jamf for Mac
  • Experience with Fortinet firewall management and VPN configuration.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing security tools such as email security solutions, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Defender, and log management systems.
  • Familiarity with device imaging and deployment processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
