Job Description

Lead test automation and tooling for Moniepoint, Africa’s all-in-one financial platform. Building scalable frameworks across functional, performance, security, cloud, and distributed-system testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement custom test automation frameworks for functional, performance, and security testing
  • Develop reusable libraries, plugins, and CLI tools for test execution, reporting, and CI/CD integration
  • Build scalable test harnesses for distributed systems, microservices, mobile native, and cloud SaaS applications
  • Write maintainable Java and JavaScript/TypeScript code to automate test workflows
  • Integrate tools with Git, Jenkins, Harness, and artifact repositories
  • Containerize tools using Docker and orchestrate test environments using Kubernetes
  • Implement observability into test tools using New Relic, Grafana, and ELK Stack
  • Partner with QE, SRE/DevOps, and development teams to identify testing pain points and deliver tooling solutions
  • Provide governance, documentation, training, and support for testing tool adoption and extension
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging testing technologies
  • Contribute to internal best practices for test automation, tool development, and quality engineering

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and Tools development or similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong programming skills in Java with a focus on tooling and automation
  • Proficiency in extending and customizing open-source testing tools including Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Postman/Bruno, REST Assured, Karate, JMeter, K6, Gatling, Locust, OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, Nmap, and Nessus
  • Experience integrating testing tools with Jira, Qmetry, ReportPortal, Allure, ExtentReports, Grafana, Jenkins, Harness, ArgoCD, GitLab, SonarQube, BrowserStack, and LambdaTest
  • Experience with test data management, mocking frameworks, and service virtualization tools such as WireMock, Hoverfly, or Mockito
  • Strong command of relational SQL and non-relational NoSQL databases
  • Experience with publish-subscribe messaging systems such as Kafka
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, gRPC, WebSockets, and event-driven or asynchronous architectures
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Expertise in Kubernetes for container orchestration
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix-based environments, shell scripting, and system-level debugging
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, root cause analysis, and complex systems debugging abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-based test generation or test impact analysis
  • Background in developer experience (DevEx) or internal platform engineering
