Job Description

Manufacturing professionals auditing AI-generated work products for Mercor, which trains frontier AI models with human expertise. Reviewing task realism, technical accuracy, grading, and practitioner usability.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit AI-generated work product in the applicant's manufacturing field
  • Review the written task, AI agent's work, produced files, and AI grader's scoresheet
  • Assess whether the task is realistic and relevant to the job
  • Verify domain content, including standards, figures, regulations, and constraints
  • Review eleven yes/no grading questions and identify disagreements with reasons
  • Independently band the work and assess whether a practitioner could use or accept it
  • Compare the independent score band with the reported score
  • Spend approximately one hour per item
  • Never perform the underlying task or redo the AI agent's work
  • Write a short reason for every judgment

Requirements:

  • Apply to one of five roles: Buyers and Purchasing Agents; First-Line Supervisors of Production and Operating Workers; Mechanical Engineers; Industrial Engineers; or Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Clerks
  • Buyers and Purchasing Agents: 5+ years placing real POs and negotiating with accountable suppliers
  • First-Line Supervisors of Production and Operating Workers: 5+ years running a shift or line and owning the schedule and people
  • Mechanical Engineers: 4+ years designing parts or systems that were built
  • Industrial Engineers: 3+ years conducting capacity, throughput, layout, or time studies that changed plant operations
  • Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Clerks: 4+ years owning receiving, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy in a real warehouse or plant
  • Near-native business English
  • Comfort using spreadsheets or PDFs to check whether numbers reconcile
  • Practical manufacturing experience, such as root-cause investigations, PPAP, first-article inspection, cycle-count variance ownership, or correcting an incorrect method sheet
  • H-1B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
  • Independent contractor engagement
