Job Description
Marketing Science Lead designing experiments to improve patient show rates at CareTalk Health, a nationwide virtual medical practice. Analyzing outreach effectiveness and guiding patient engagement decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the testing roadmap for outreach and engagement techniques.
- Design controlled experiments, including hypotheses, randomization, control groups, sample sizing, and success criteria.
- Conduct power analysis and establish minimum detectable effects before test launches.
- Analyze test results for statistical validity, accounting for sequential analysis and multiple comparisons.
- Analyze historical appointment, outreach, and attendance data to identify drivers of missed visits and quantify opportunity.
- Apply observational causal inference methods when controlled testing is not feasible and communicate limitations.
- Develop segmentation and targeting approaches for patient populations.
- Translate findings into recommendations and implementation specifications for operations.
- Document test designs, results, and decisions.
- Report show-rate performance and program impact, including operational and financial impact, to leadership.
- Provide technical direction and review for the Patient Engagement Analyst and Marketing Operations Specialist.
- Partner with clinical, compliance, and operations leadership to meet organizational, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical direction to a Marketing Operations Specialist and a Patient Engagement Analyst as a hands-on individual contributor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, data science, marketing analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing science, experimentation, causal inference, or advanced analytics.
- Demonstrated experience designing, executing, and analyzing controlled experiments end to end.
- Working knowledge of experimental design principles, including randomization, sample sizing, power analysis, stratification, and multiple comparisons.
- Advanced SQL, plus proficiency in Python or R.
- Experience working with large, imperfect operational datasets.
- Experience applying observational causal inference methods such as matching, difference-in-differences, or propensity scoring.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Sound judgment in distinguishing statistically valid results from inconclusive ones, and the ability to communicate that distinction clearly.
- Windows or Apple (macOS) computer only; no Chromebooks, Linux machines, or smartphones.
- At least Windows 10 or macOS 14 Sonoma.
- Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent (Windows) processor, or Apple Silicon (Macs).
- 16 GB RAM.
- Wired headphones required; no built-in microphones.
- Minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload.
- Ethernet cable connecting the computer directly to the router.
- Google Chrome with Amazon Workspaces.
- Webcam required for video calls.
- Reliable internet connectivity and a secure, private workspace.
- Healthcare experience, patient or member engagement programs, uplift or heterogeneous treatment effect models, regulated-environment experimentation, HIPAA/TCPA knowledge, behavioral science, older adult populations, and an advanced quantitative degree are preferred, not required.
