Job Description

Payroll Coordinator processing multi-state payroll for Evolution Research Group, a clinical research company. Managing payroll compliance, employee inquiries, year-end filings, accruals, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and enter/import employee timecards into the payroll system
  • Review payroll documentation for accuracy and make necessary adjustments
  • Obtain required approvals for payroll transactions from site directors or executive staff
  • Communicate and work with the Human Resources Department
  • Research and resolve payroll questions from managers and employees, including PTO, banking, garnishments, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions, and other changes
  • Process payroll on schedule for multiple entities across different states
  • Assist Finance with preparing and recording monthly payroll, PTO, and bonus accruals
  • Review and ensure accuracy of year-end statements, including Forms 941, 940, state forms, and W-2 statements
  • Prepare ad hoc financial and analytical reports for management
  • Participate as project manager or team member on company projects as needed
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by the evolving needs of the organization

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of current compensation rules and tax regulations, including Federal, FICA, State, and Local withholding rules for employee wage garnishments
  • Knowledge of state payroll rules and guidelines preferred
  • Knowledge of 401(k) rules and regulations
  • Minimum three-five years of payroll work experience, including multi-site/state payroll processing
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • FPC or CPP Certification desired
  • Experience with Paycom or similar payroll software
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and results-driven
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with different departments and assist HR and Finance with assignments and projects
