Job Description

Payroll Manager ensuring accurate, compliant payroll for Third Plateau, an impact consultancy serving philanthropy, nonprofits, and communities. Managing multi-platform processing, tax filings, reconciliations, and client approvals.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations while serving as a trusted resource to nonprofit clients
  • Manage accurate and timely payroll processing for assigned client entities across multiple payroll platforms, pay frequencies, and state jurisdictions
  • Obtain documented client approval before each payroll submission
  • Communicate client-specific cutoffs, follow up on missing information, and escalate late approvals
  • Review payroll registers and exception reports for accuracy
  • Coordinate and monitor payroll tax filings and notices across local, state, county, and municipal jurisdictions
  • Maintain payroll systems, including new hire payroll setup, tax form processing, local tax setup, timekeeping input, termination processing, and garnishment processing
  • Perform payroll deduction reconciliation
  • Report to the Division Lead
  • Handle sensitive financial and employee information with discretion

  • Knowledge of new hire payroll setup, tax form processing, local tax setup, timekeeping input, termination processing, and garnishment processing
