Job Description
Technicien paie chez QSL, opérateur canadien de terminaux portuaires et services logistiques. Production, vérification et administration de la paie dans cinq provinces canadiennes.
Responsibilities:
- Complete the employee payroll processing cycle according to the payroll schedule and in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and legislation
- Ensure data integrity in the payroll system by updating information related to new hires, terminations, personnel changes, leaves, and benefits
- Validate timesheets and follow up with managers regarding approvals and corrections
- Administer source deductions, benefits, vacation, support payments, and retirement plans
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding leaves, bonuses, overtime, and time banks
- Close the year-end process and generate the required reports, including T4s, RL-1 slips, summaries, and CNESST reports
- Develop and deepen knowledge to grow as a payroll specialist
- Collaborate with the Accounting and Finance team at QSL’s head office at the Port of Québec
Requirements:
- 5 years of payroll experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
- Resourcefulness, attention to detail, and rigour
- College diploma in Accounting (asset)
- Payroll Institute diploma (asset)
- Experience interpreting collective agreements and working in a corporate environment (asset)
- French-English bilingualism is required for interactions with internal and external stakeholders outside Québec
