Job Description

People Operations Specialist scaling employee lifecycle processes for Juno, a UK residential conveyancing law firm. Running onboarding, HRIS workflows, employee relations, and AI-enabled automation remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Take end-to-end ownership of people operations
  • Build scalable people processes and systems
  • Own new-starter onboarding flows, including issuing contracts, running pre-employment checks, and managing onboarding checklists
  • Serve as the first point of contact for managers, resolving issues or escalating with recommendations
  • Handle absence and leave administration
  • Run sensitive one-to-one employee conversations with empathy
  • Own the Zelt HR system and configure onboarding and offboarding workflows
  • Draft and track routine employee paperwork, including changes to salary, hours, or role
  • Build templates, workflows, and prompts using AI tools such as Claude
  • Identify automation opportunities and support managers through light-touch training
  • Turn people data into useful insights for leadership
  • Work closely with the General Counsel, who is the line manager

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ownership of problems from start to finish
  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy
  • Ability to give honest, direct, actionable feedback
  • Sound judgement on sensitive and confidential issues
  • Ability to assess risk and determine when to escalate
  • Hands-on experience using Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools to build and improve operational processes
  • Experience turning repetitive manual work into reliable, auditable, repeatable semi-automated or automated workflows
  • Ideally, basic understanding of employment law
  • Ideally, experience in a people team
  • Ideally, recent experience in a high-growth environment
  • Strong judgement, ownership, and instincts
  • UK right-to-work status
