Job Description
Tri Delta, a women’s membership organization, seeks a remote communications director for brand, PR, and crisis messaging. Advising senior leaders and leading strategic messaging teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development of high-impact corporate and executive communications, including talking points, FAQs, stakeholder messaging, presentations, video messaging, and scripts.
- Advise senior leadership on messaging strategy for complex, sensitive, or high-risk situations.
- Ensure alignment and consistency across stakeholder communications while balancing brand voice, operational clarity, and legal considerations.
- Develop messaging frameworks for complex organizational initiatives.
- Lead crisis and issues communications for organizational incidents and partner with leadership on coordinated messaging.
- Anticipate and proactively address stakeholder questions, concerns, and risks.
- Develop marketing copy supporting organizational priorities and member engagement.
- Oversee event and stakeholder scripting for major Tri Delta events and conferences.
- Identify and develop public relations and thought leadership opportunities.
- Guide the strategic messaging team in content creation, editing, and writing.
- Lead, mentor, motivate, and grow the strategic messaging team.
- Oversee enterprise-wide copyediting.
- Promote project management processes and identify content opportunities that strengthen Tri Delta’s brand reputation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field is required.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, brand management, or marketing.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, messaging frameworks, and enterprise-wide communication planning.
- Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and grow high-performing communications teams.
- Expertise in crisis communication principles and reputational risk response.
- Experience managing incident response communications.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills.
- Ability to write scripts for events and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret communication metrics and present insights to leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to create clear, actionable, audience-appropriate communications.
- Deep experience in crisis and issues management, including responsive communications with legal and organizational leadership.
- Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, audience-centered messaging.
- Strong project management skills managing multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and workstreams.
- Candidates must be physically located in the US and eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug test is required.
- Existing media list and familiarity with nonprofit, membership-based, or mission-driven organizations are a plus.
- A Master’s degree is preferred, not required.
