Job Description

Procurement specialist sourcing materials, components, equipment, and services for L3Harris defense and aerospace programs. Managing suppliers, purchase orders, pricing, compliance, and delivery performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute procurement activities for raw materials, components, equipment, and services supporting defense and aerospace programs
  • Solicit, review, and analyze supplier quotations, proposals, and bids
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, and delivery commitments
  • Issue and administer purchase orders through completion, including acknowledgements, deliveries, invoice discrepancies, and order closeout
  • Evaluate supplier capability, performance, and risk across quality, cost, schedule, and compliance
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, program management, and finance
  • Resolve supplier issues involving shortages, damages, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering or configuration changes
  • Maintain procurement records and support audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and reporting
  • Review market conditions, supplier trends, and pricing data to recommend sourcing strategies and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, contractual requirements, anti-corruption standards, and ethical business practices
  • Provide guidance, coaching, or day-to-day support to less experienced employees

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant procurement experience
  • Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of prior related procurement experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum 8 years of prior related procurement experience
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements
  • Experience procuring electronic components, mechanical parts, complex assemblies, or specialized services
  • Familiarity with supplier performance management, cost analysis, and schedule risk mitigation
  • Experience supporting engineering change activity, configuration changes, and material returns
  • Working knowledge of export compliance considerations, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Experience using material requirements planning or enterprise resource planning tools in a production or program environment
  • Travel up to 20% may be required
