Job Description
ProFee auditing and coder education specialist supporting Datavant’s healthcare data collaboration platform. Delivering coding audits, compliance guidance, and virtual education across multiple specialties.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Professional Fee coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and appropriate coding references
- Provide concise rationale for identified coding changes, including documentation references and locations
- Organize and prioritize multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow and case resolution
- Develop and deliver virtual coder education programs, including webinars, presentations, training materials, and educational resources
- Identify coding trends, audit findings, and knowledge gaps and develop targeted educational content
- Collaborate with leadership and clients to design, develop, and maintain educational materials, reference tools, and learning resources
- Serve as a subject matter expert by presenting coding and compliance topics to coders, providers, and healthcare stakeholders
- Work in a professional, efficient, and positive manner
- Maintain high-complexity work functions and decision-making
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Professional Fee coding and/or auditing experience, with the majority in auditing
- 3+ years of Professional Fee education creation and presentation experience
- Multi-specialty coding/auditing experience
- CPC required
- CPMA preferred
- Proficiency in Professional Fee multiple specialties, including E/M, Advance Care Planning (ACP), and surgical coding
- Ability to multitask among multiple clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
- Maintain a 95% accuracy rate
- Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs
- Adherence to the AAPC code of ethics
- Customer-service focus, professionalism, flexibility, dependability, desire to learn, commitment to excellence, and commitment to the profession
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Ability to keep abreast of regulatory changes
- Must work in the United States; this job is not eligible for employment sponsorship
- May be required to complete post-offer health screenings and provide proof of vaccinations, depending on client requirements
