Job Description

Regional HR Leader driving HR practices and culture for Pinnacle Senior Living communities in Arizona and California. Empowering leaders and supporting staff in exceptional resident care through HR excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an HR ambassador across assigned Pinnacle communities, promoting HR resources and championing best practices.
  • Partner with community HR/Payroll Representatives to build capability, consistency, and operational HR excellence.
  • Coach leaders to foster employee engagement, strengthen retention, and enhance a culture of compassion and service.
  • Conduct HR audits and support compliance with federal, state, and senior‑living regulations.
  • Provide HRIS support—in Workday -for onboarding, offboarding, recruiting workflows, and reporting.
  • Guide pre‑employment processes and state‑specific requirements unique to senior living.
  • Support integration efforts for acquisitions or new community transitions.
  • Train and onboard new HR/Payroll Representatives at our local communities on systems, standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Advise leaders on employment laws and practices.
  • Lead or support employee relations investigations, ADA accommodations, and risk‑mitigating HR strategies.
  • Analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, ER trends) and recommend data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Benefits, Payroll, and Legal partners.
  • Serve as a cultural champion, modeling Pennant’s CAPLICO core values and commitment to exceptional experiences.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • SHRM certification (preferred)
  • 3+ years of HR experience, ideally supporting multiple locations or states
  • California HR experience (strongly preferred)
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% across Arizona and California
  • Strong communication, coaching, and relationship‑building skills
  • Experience with employee relations, recruiting, training, and HR programs
  • Working knowledge of state & federal employment laws (multi‑state preferred)
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, or regulated care settings (highly preferred)
  • HRIS experience, especially Workday (preferred)
