Job Description

Regional Sales Manager leading California sales teams for Orthofix, a global spine and orthopedic medical-device company. Driving territory strategy, customer relationships, compliance, and 90% travel-based execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Maximize sales results by leading, coordinating, and overseeing the sales team within a defined geography
  • Establish and communicate a vision for the area aligned with the organization
  • Set, communicate, and monitor progress of the fully integrated business plan
  • Anticipate and overcome obstacles to success while coordinating efforts and resources
  • Identify and maintain relationships with key customers, professionals, and internal/external partners
  • Lead business operations and administrative matters
  • Ensure fair and equitable application of staff policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the RVP and internal stakeholders on customer-facing operating systems, asset deployment, and field training
  • Develop and communicate a strategic territory vision and area business plan
  • Develop account-specific business plans and solutions addressing local market conditions and customer goals
  • Track and share business metrics to enhance productivity and improve performance
  • Communicate best practices across the organization
  • Communicate expectations and hold team members and partners accountable
  • Evaluate strategy, resource allocation, profitability, business results, and customer goal attainment
  • Correct and refine processes when targets are not achieved or additional opportunities arise
  • Maintain adherence to company and industry compliance policies
  • Provide daily oversight of Associate Territory Managers, Territory Managers, and Distributorships

Requirements:

  • Candidate must reside in California
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated success selling through the managed health care or third-party payer environment is a plus
  • Related medical experience calling on physician offices and hospitals is a plus
  • Ability to articulate effectively, showing poise, depth of thought, and good judgment and decision-making
  • Ability to present to individuals and larger groups
  • Exceptional technical competence regarding product knowledge and surgical procedures is a plus
  • Ability to advise management on policy and procedure issues
  • Must be able to lift and transport products and literature to customer sites repetitively throughout each day
  • Lifting capacity of approximately 20–30 pounds
  • Travel within territory by plane, car, etc. approximately 90%
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required if traveling by car
