Job Description
Road Safety Engineer assessing and evaluating road infrastructure safety risks and ensuring compliance with standards. Collaborating with teams and authorities to enhance transport safety in Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assessing and evaluating road infrastructure to identify safety risks.
- Ensuring compliance with road safety standards.
- Contributing to the development of safer transport systems across the country.
- Work closely with engineering teams, local authorities, and contractors to improve road safety across new and existing road networks.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent and ideally a post-graduate degree.
- Minimum 5+ years post-graduate experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the Road Safety Audit process as set down in TII-GE-01025 Road Safety Audit.
- Qualified to carry out Road Safety Audits at Team Leader and Team Member status.
- Solid communication and IT skills.
- Experience in working on Active Travel, Transportation, Planning & Road Design projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D desirable but not required.
- Clean drivers licence and access to a vehicle for travelling to site locations around Ireland.
