Job Description

Sales Account Manager at TC Transcontinental working with flexible packaging and driving sales. Responsible for new business and maintaining existing client relationships with regular travel in the Midwest.

Responsibilities:

  • Create value at TC Transcontinental by delivering budgeted sales and profitability objectives
  • Uncover opportunities at new and existing customers and coordinate efforts across disciplines for project completion to grow sales revenues
  • Utilize solid critical thinking and communication skills to build strong customer relationships
  • Achieve annual sales and margin targets for new business while maintaining and growing existing business
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all buying influences within each customer
  • Manage and oversee account planning, pipeline management, profitability improvements, and churn management
  • Facilitate collaboration and coordination between Sales Management, R&D, Marketing, and Field Service to support customer trials
  • Keep management informed of competitive developments in the account base
  • Secure and manage supply agreements and proactively promote product innovation and sustainable packaging solutions
  • Participate in business and industry events to connect with existing and potential clients
  • Seek out and participate in training and development opportunities to expand knowledge of flexible packaging solutions and sales techniques.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, packaging, or engineering, or relevant work experience
  • 3-8 years of successful sales experience in the flexible packaging industry, with a focus on selling to mid-large CPG customers
  • Strongly preferred: experience in the meat and protein packaging industry and previous experience in a manufacturing organization
  • Remote position with preference for candidates located in the Midwest region
  • Strongly preferred: knowledge of and experience with the printing and converting industry and equipment
  • Proficient in PC-based software applications including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, and Sales tools such as SalesForce.com
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic accounting, spreadsheet ability, and basic problem-solving methods
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, logic, patience, reasoning, empathy, continuous learning, and development
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and visual management, and the ability to present comfortably to audiences both large and small
  • Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively build and lead teams and to develop and maintain positive relationships
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve sales skills.
