Job Description
Health system data analyst using SQL, Epic Clarity, and Reporting Workbench to advance health equity. Producing dashboards, reports, and insights for clinical decision-makers.
Responsibilities:
- Work with end-user requests to define moderately to sophisticated business requirements, data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements for enterprise data intelligence projects
- Create specifications for reports and analyses based on business and clinical needs and available data elements
- Produce datasets, reports, ad-hoc requests, dashboards, and other analytic outputs
- Conduct data analysis supporting varied analytic solutions
- Write moderately sophisticated SQL code and queries and analyze complex problems using internal and external data sources
- Triage data-request intake and understand business needs
- Apply healthcare knowledge and critical thinking to recommend solutions
- Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis and report patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers
- Participate in re-engineering operational workflows with end users and business owners
- Lead and evaluate process and requirements analysis, process mapping, requirements elicitation, stakeholder analysis, and specification gathering for complex projects
- Provide recommendations using current and projected data
- Serve as primary vendor-support contact for larger and more complex projects and critical issues
- Manage external vendor relationships
- Provide guidance and leadership on quality assurance and testing initiatives
- Lead complex integrated testing processes and manage testing projects
- Contribute to strategy discussions by identifying options and associated pros and cons
Requirements:
- Five (5) plus years’ experience with SQL
- Demonstrated ability with query tools including Python, R, Oracle, SAS, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Microsoft SQL, and Tableau
- Hands-on experience performing reporting analysis and developing custom reports
- Understanding of healthcare applications and patient care providers’ needs and priorities
- Familiarity with patient-care databases, hospital administrative applications, and data warehousing technology
- Experience analyzing Clarity report requests, Reporting Workbench requests, and Radar build requests
- Technical proficiency in Reporting Workbench and Radar build
- Ability to teach sophisticated Reporting Workbench and Radar build concepts
- Developing Epic Inpatient Clarity reports is highly desirable
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field
- Epic Clarity Certification preferred, with Epic Inpatient preferred
- SQL Server certification preferred
- Must reside in an approved remote state: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, or Texas
