Job Description
Senior analyst building Snowflake and Python marketing data models and automations. Supporting CDP’s public media fundraising, audience activation, and data-delivery services.
Responsibilities:
- Build and improve scalable omni-channel marketing data models, metadata frameworks, and process automations driven by marketing strategy and service requirements
- Translate marketing, fundraising, audience-selection, and segmentation requirements into reusable SQL code and components in Snowflake
- Design, test, document, and implement SQL-based models supporting audience selection, segmentation, quality control, reporting, reconciliation, and marketing operations
- Identify, develop, maintain, monitor, and improve workflow automations for data preparation, quality control, file generation/handling, and analysis
- Design validation, exception handling, monitoring, alerts, and recovery procedures for automated processes
- Partner with service owners and stakeholders to define data requirements, business rules, success measures, and acceptance criteria
- Manage assigned data projects from discovery through implementation, including scope, plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, testing, and status communications
- Explore unfamiliar datasets, identify appropriate tables and fields, and determine source-data relationships
- Evaluate query logic and results for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and business-rule alignment
- Troubleshoot discrepancies through query tracing, source-record comparisons, and root-cause analysis
- Assess and improve query performance, including filters, joins, calculations, and query structure
- Provide production data-delivery and support coverage when needed
- Document reusable data sources, assumptions, query logic, business definitions, validation steps, limitations, and implementation decisions
- Communicate findings, risks, and data limitations to marketing, operations, quality, and technical partners
- Collaborate with BDO, Marketing Strategy, Service Teams, Fundraising OPS, Tech Solutions, Quality Control, and other cross-functional teams
- Participate in station onboarding, campaign kick-offs, vendor/client interfacing, production meetings, and data working groups
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Hands-on experience working with large data sets for audience selection, segmentation, A/B split logic, scoring-data integration, and outcome analysis for omni-channel marketing campaigns
- Independent experience writing complex SQL queries beyond executing or making minor edits to prewritten scripts
- Expertise with SQL views, models, relational data structures, procedures, notebooks, functions, joins, common table expressions, subqueries, aggregate and window functions, conditional logic, and data-type handling
- Experience writing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Python scripts for structured data-file manipulation, validation, logging, and error handling
- Experience identifying process-automation opportunities and converting workflows into maintainable solutions
- Ability to design automation controls using validation, exception handling, monitoring, alerts, and recovery procedures
- Demonstrated project-management skills, including requirements gathering, scope definition, work planning, milestone tracking, risk and dependency management, testing coordination, and status reporting
- Ability to lead cross-functional work without direct authority and move projects from ambiguous business needs to implemented, documented solutions
- Experience validating large-data outputs through record-level review, reconciliations, control totals, and comparison with business requirements
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate nontechnical requirements into query logic and explain data analyses to business stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple requests in a deadline-driven environment
- Clear written documentation practices and organized query-file, definition, assumption, and revision management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with minimal direct supervision
- Preferred: Snowflake Workspaces and Notebooks, Iterable, fundraising/direct mail/donor analytics/nonprofit data, fundraising CRMs, Tableau, advanced Excel, DBT, GitHub, scheduling tools, APIs, Asana, and related data/automation tools
