Job Description

Senior Database Developer/Administrator specializing in Sybase and PostgreSQL solutions. Join Dedalus in enhancing healthcare technology and architecture with modern database practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and optimization of database solutions with a focus on Sybase and PostgreSQL
  • Administration of database systems running on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Red Hat
  • Design and implementation of new database architectures to support modern business requirements
  • Development and maintenance of database APIs to enable seamless interaction between applications and databases
  • Performance tuning and monitoring of existing databases to ensure availability and stability
  • Database migrations and upgrades, including planning and execution
  • Collaboration with software developers, system administrators and other stakeholders to develop integrated solutions
  • Documentation and creation of best practices for database processes
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database issues as part of support activities

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in database development and administration, ideally with Sybase and PostgreSQL
  • Confident working with Linux-based operating systems
  • Preferably experience administering Linux-based systems (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Red Hat)
  • Experience designing and implementing database architectures and developing database APIs
  • Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling
  • Knowledge of backup strategies, replication and high-availability solutions
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to quality
  • Interest in working in an agile team within the resilient healthcare sector
  • Strong communicator with a careful working style and high quality standards
  • Good German and English language skills and strong communication abilities.
