Job Description
Senior Key Account Manager supporting sales and driving growth for The Binding Site instrumentation in healthcare and life sciences. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer relationships and market share.
Responsibilities:
- Work very closely with the Area Sales Manager, supporting the team within the region, to build and expand the installed base of The Binding Site instrumentation while driving adoption of new technologies and identifying strategic growth opportunities within large key accounts.
- Translate customer insights into meaningful partnership opportunities while representing our comprehensive portfolio of innovative scientific solutions.
- Develop and execute account strategies that deliver exceptional value to customers while meeting revenue objectives.
- Build professional relationships with decision-makers and coordinate cross-functional resources to ensure customer success.
- Develop comprehensive business plans, conduct regular business reviews, negotiate contracts, and implement strategic initiatives to grow market share and customer loyalty.
- Collaborate across divisions to leverage Thermo Fisher's full capabilities, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Through proactive account management and innovative solutions, help customers advance their critical work in making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in strategic account management, preferably in life sciences, healthcare, or diagnostic markets
- Preferred Fields of Study: Laboratory science, life sciences, healthcare, or diagnostics
- Experience selling capital equipment or other complex, high-value instrumentation within the life sciences, diagnostics, medical device, or laboratory markets preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing and growing key account relationships at executive levels
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex scientific workflows and applications
- Advanced negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent presentation and communication abilities
- Demonstrated success working in collaborative organizations
- Proficiency in CRM systems (especially Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and business planning capabilities
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively (approximately 60–75%) throughout a large multi-state territory, including frequent overnight travel.
- Residence near a major commercial airport is strongly preferred
- Experience with consultative selling and complex sales cycles
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic account plans
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze business opportunities
- Experience coordinating teams to deliver customer solutions
