Job Description
Senior Mainframe Engineer handling customer environments and solving technical issues. Working remotely while contributing to FNTS's managed services engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining customer environments and solving technical problems efficiently
- Help plan and migrate customer systems via tape save/restore or software replication
- Ensure proper handling of system backups
- React in a break/fix capacity to escalate technical issues
- Install new software releases while working with customer on timing/testing/implementation
- Participate in technical infrastructure projects as the Mainframe SME
Requirements:
- 10+ years experience as a Mainframe Systems Engineer
- Knowledge of z/OS Concepts (JES2, SDSF, TSO, RACF, HCD/IODF, SMP/E)
- TCP/IP configuration experience
- Familiarity with Storage Management (SMS, HSM, DFDSS, VSAM, IDCAMS, ICF Catalogs)
- Experience with Major Subsystems (CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ Series)
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentations)
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
