Job Description
Senior manager leading project managers and imaging programs at ICON, a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organization. Driving operational performance, compliance, resources, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall tactical and strategic direction and management of projects through designated project managers
- Direct and provide day-to-day tactical oversight to the assigned Project Management team
- Provide vision, leadership, and mentorship regarding performance and career development
- Direct, coordinate, implement, execute, control, and complete programs/projects
- Ensure compliance with IMC and ICON policies and procedures
- Plan, allocate, and optimize Project Management resources
- Create a culture of process improvement and streamline processes
- Manage and develop Project Managers and Project Assistants through objectives and professional development plans
- Monitor team health and resolve or escalate performance issues
- Assess training curricula, identify training needs, and ensure adequate training
- Manage project workload, resource forecasts, and project assignments
- Identify personnel resources for new and existing projects
- Develop operational metrics for project performance
- Serve as escalation point for customer and cross-functional issues
- Ensure proper tools are provided and used effectively
- Monitor operational efficiency and lead process-improvement opportunities
- Provide senior management with team performance metrics
- Lead or participate in strategic planning, risk assessment, and contingency activities
- Analyze department and project financial data and implement corrective action plans
- Lead customer meetings and escalations when required
- Support staff recruitment, interviews, and hiring
- Travel up to 25% of the time
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, project management, business administration, or a related field
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are preferred
- Extensive experience in project management within the clinical research or pharmaceutical industries
- Supervisory experience required
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Legal right to work in the country where the role is based
