Job Description
Senior fundraising specialist developing donor proposals, pitches, and budgets for Udhyam’s entrepreneurship education programs. Securing institutional and corporate philanthropy to expand government-school reach across India.
Responsibilities:
- Raise funds from institutional and corporate philanthropy partners
- Develop proposals, pitch decks, and budgets aligned with program needs
- Assess funders and tailor Udhyam’s value proposition to each partner
- Shape the narrative for corporate and institutional donors on the importance of building agency in youth
- Research funders, sectors, and datasets across education, youth empowerment, economic development, and related initiatives
- Translate budgets and data into clear, reader-friendly stories
- Work closely with the Director, Shiksha and Shiksha Operations
- Report to the Principal Specialist, Fundraising
- Support fundraising for Udhyam Shiksha’s goal of reaching government-school students across India
Requirements:
- 5 to 7 years of experience preferred, especially in nonprofit fundraising or donor management
- Experience in documentation, strategy, research, or communications
- Ability to develop proposals, pitch decks, and budgets
- Ability to assess funders and position the organization’s value proposition accordingly
- Strong generalist and big-picture thinking capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong research skills across funders, sectors, and datasets
- Comfort with budgets and data, including translating numbers into clear narratives
- High attention to detail and ability to organize information
- Ability to analyze data and synthesize multiple inputs into coherent external-facing narratives
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong rigour, ownership, and accountability
- Belief in experiential learning, youth empowerment, and developing agency in adolescents
