Job Description
Senior Systems Engineer participating in complex automotive projects and coaching teams on systems engineering practices. Requires bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of systems engineering experience.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in highly complex projects in the automotive industry performing the following activities
- Coach teams on writing high-quality needs and requirements
- Improve decomposition, integration, and traceability
- Reinforce standards for clear system boundaries and verification alignment
- Clarify system boundaries, interfaces, and ownership
- Facilitate cross-team alignment in ambiguous areas
- Apply structured SE methods to reduce friction and decision churn
- Support a focused pilot team using Jama
- Establish best practices for requirement structure, hierarchy, and traceability
- Collect and implement feedback and ensure tooling reinforces sound systems engineering thinking
- Deliver focused workshops and 1:1 coaching
- Introduce practical SE tools that improve clarity and reduce conflict
- Influence across engineering, product, and program leadership without formal authority
Requirements:
- Bachelor´s Degree in Automotive Design, Mechatronics or equivalent
- Expertise in Systems Engineering for complex products (10+ years of experience)
- Able to Coach teams on writing high-quality needs and requirements
- Strong experience working with Jama
- Formal SE training (INCOSE-aligned preferred)
- Proven experience leading requirements improvement initiatives
- Deep expertise in: Needs vs. requirements definition, System boundary clarity, Requirement decomposition and traceability, Interface management
- Demonstrated ability to drive change in low-to-moderate SE maturity environments
