Job Description

API Engineer leading design first principles for scalable, secure APIs at Mollica IT. Evaluating and maintaining UNIX/Linux based applications with ongoing support and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, design, document, install, test, implement, monitor, and maintain complex UNIX/Linux-based applications such as GPP, GCP, Total Payments, and infrastructure solutions;
  • Configure and support production, testing, and development environments (Solaris/AIX/Linux);
  • Perform troubleshooting, prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation and RFPs;
  • Capacity planning, DR (Disaster Recovery) configuration, and implementation and testing of High Availability solutions;
  • Evaluate, recommend, install, and configure tools for event monitoring, capacity planning, and performance monitoring on UNIX/Linux systems, ensuring automated 24/7 monitoring of applications and production systems;
  • Conduct technical training;
  • Other routine tasks within the area.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical experience in UNIX/Linux/Cloud environments (including development, technical QA, and application deployment/support);
  • Good understanding of GPP SP and Total Payments deployment architecture;
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving systems and application issues;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service orientation;
  • Experience with J2EE application servers – WebSphere / WebLogic / JBoss (including performance benchmarking analysis);
  • Microsoft Azure or Amazon EC2;
  • Hazelcast;
  • Oracle DB (including performance benchmarking analysis);
  • IBM MQ;
  • Scripting in UNIX Shell or Perl and/or application server scripting;
  • Elastic Search;
  • Kafka (differential/plus);
  • Knowledge of high availability and clustering on UNIX;
  • Required: Bachelor's degree completed.
  • Language: Advanced English for conversation (there will be an interview stage in English).
