Job Description
Dermatology specialty representative driving AbbVie immunology sales across Michigan. Managing physician accounts, executing brand strategy, and building healthcare-provider relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns to close sales calls
- Serve customer needs and expectations and achieve win-win agreements
- Develop and execute call plans to meet metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
- Share market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, in-field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders
- Travel approximately 50% of the time
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- High school diploma/GED required when using experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style and behavior
- Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions
- Ability to influence others and serve as a credible role model and resource
- Collaborative partnership skills in district and matrix teams
- Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility
- Understanding and ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing
- Ability to satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements
- Good standing and/or eligibility to obtain required credentials
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Ability to drive a personal auto or company car/truck or powered material-handling equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Ability to meet safe driving requirements
