Job Description

Specialty Representative driving AbbVie’s GI-care pharmaceutical sales in Toms River. Managing healthcare accounts, executing brand strategy, and building provider relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and secure calls to action during sales calls
  • Serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage, frequency, access, and sales opportunities
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales expertise
  • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates
  • Operate within AbbVie's business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record of success in selling
  • Solid presentation skills
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Documented leadership and support success at district, region, and/or organizational levels
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing
  • Ability to satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and remain in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
