Job Description
Dermatology specialty representative driving immunology sales for AbbVie’s innovative medicines. Managing Michigan territories, provider relationships, brand strategy, and pharmaceutical sales performance.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and complete post-call evaluations
- Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns and gain calls to action to close sales calls
- Serve customer needs and expectations and build trusted customer relationships
- Develop and execute call plans that achieve call metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales expertise
- Share market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, in-field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, with three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- High school diploma/GED required when using industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style and behavior
- Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities
- Ability to influence others and serve as a credible peer resource
- Collaborative partnership with district colleagues and matrix teams
- Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility
- Understanding and ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
- Must demonstrate in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
