Job Description

AbbVie specialty representative driving gastroenterology sales across Miami-area immunology accounts. Managing territories, healthcare-provider relationships, brand strategy, and sales performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections and concerns and gain calls to action to close sales calls
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements
  • Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
  • Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
  • Collaborate with in-field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record of success in selling
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style and behavior
  • Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions
  • Ability to influence others and serve as a credible role model and resource
  • Collaborative partnership skills in district and matrix teams
  • Documented leadership and support experience at district, region, and/or organizational levels
  • Understanding and use of findings to develop sales strategies
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing
  • Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements
  • Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required credentials
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Must meet safe driving requirements
