Job Description

Customer Support Specialist managing client interactions using financial software at Pennylane. Engaging with users to resolve issues in a remote capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Support Specialist — Financial Control & Accounting, you act as both a subject-matter expert and a platform expert.
  • You are the primary point of contact for our clients who have chosen Pennylane as the central software for their accounting and financial management.
  • You interact with users daily and seek to understand the issues they encounter.
  • After investigating, your goal is to provide an answer or solution to the user, or, when necessary, escalate the issue to the technical teams.
  • You are also responsible for helping company and firm accountants import their data into Pennylane to ease their migration.
  • First 3 months: You join the Pennylane Academy and receive continuous training on the product and the team’s processes.
  • Months 4–6: You gain autonomy and begin handling increasingly complex customer requests.
  • In the future, you will have opportunities to progress to resolving more advanced issues within the Support team as well as to other teams.

Requirements:

  • Accounting education (examples: BTS CGO, DCG, BTS Business Administration for SMEs, Master in Accounting, Control & Audit (CCA), or Bachelor in Administration and Accounting).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a public accounting firm (ideally having completed at least three fiscal periods/busy seasons).
  • Experience working directly with company leaders is a plus (for example, internal advisory).
  • Enthusiasm for innovative work tools and new technologies.
  • Autonomy and the ability to solve problems independently and find solutions.
  • Familiarity with the Pennylane platform is a plus.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and pedagogically when interacting with users.
  • Ability to understand and respond to client needs, deliver excellent service, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the tool’s rapid evolution.
  • Willingness to learn and keep up to date with product developments.

Benefits:

  • One of the best health plans on the market (Alan Blue and Alan Mind).
  • Meal vouchers (Swile card).
  • Between 6 and 12 additional RTT days on top of 5 weeks of paid vacation.
  • Opportunity to improve your English through Busuu.
  • A monthly allowance for all Pennylaners to support working from home or from a coworking space.
  • Easy access to our offices, located a few minutes from Saint-Lazare in central Paris.
  • BSPCE equity package.
  • Access to 8,000 gyms across France and more than 300 wellness activities via our partner Gymlib.
  • A Mac.
  • We play many sports together and regularly gather for company events such as Tech Days (which bring remote Pennylaners together every 3 months) and our annual company retreat, fostering strong team cohesion for everyone.
