Job Description

Test Automation Lead modernizing SAIC’s federal IT quality and security testing. Building automated coverage across DevSecOps, accessibility, performance, and compliance testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts to improve coverage and reduce manual effort
  • Lead integrated testing across unit, functional, accessibility, system, reliability, usability, interoperability, regression, security, and performance/load testing
  • Develop and maintain Test Plans in the VA Quality Manager tool
  • Provide Test Strategy and Test Execution content using VA-provided templates
  • Maintain test cases, test scripts, test data, execution results, and supporting artifacts in VA-approved tools
  • Maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix for bi-directional traceability across requirements, tests, defects, and releases
  • Manage the defect lifecycle, including logging defects within one business day, assigning severity/impact, and supporting prioritization and resolution
  • Enforce release readiness criteria before production deployment
  • Conduct security scanning with WASA, Fortify, and dependency/vulnerability scanning tools
  • Support security assessments, Section 508 reviews, performance/load testing, and architectural compliance reviews
  • Leverage VA TRM-approved automation tools
  • Track test execution and reporting in VA Quality Manager
  • Continuously improve test approaches, automation capabilities, and test quality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 13 years of related experience
  • 7+ years of software testing experience, with at least 3 years focused on test automation in federal IT environments
  • Proficiency with Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Postman, JUnit/NUnit
  • Experience with CI/CD-integrated testing pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with Fortify, WASA, OWASP ZAP, or equivalent VA-approved security testing tools
  • Experience with Section 508 accessibility testing and compliance
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing methodologies and tools
  • Proficiency with VA Quality Manager and RTM compliance
  • Familiarity with Jira and GitHub for test management and traceability
  • Understanding of NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 security controls as related to testing and ATO compliance
  • Must be eligible for VA background investigation
  • Must be US-based
  • Preferred: ISTQB Agile Tester Certification
  • Preferred: SAFe Agilist or Certified Scrum Master
  • Preferred: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent
