Job Description
UI/UX design expert defining criteria and scoring human and AI-generated product design work. Mercor partners with AI labs to train and enhance frontier AI systems.
Responsibilities:
- Define excellent digital product design work by designing task-specific grading criteria
- Create grading criteria for design systems, component libraries, responsive UI layouts, dashboards, product flows, customer portals, UX writing, product content, and design-to-engineering handoff
- Score AI-generated and human work samples against the criteria
- Provide detailed written justifications for every score
- Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment so scores are reproducible and defensible
- Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate quickly
- Work on projects training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in product design, UI/UX, or design systems for real digital products
- Experience with real digital products rather than brand or marketing sites
- Background at leading digital-product or UX studios, in-house product-design teams at major product-led companies, or sophisticated e-commerce and marketplace companies
- Experience in product/UI/design systems design, UX leadership, UX writing/content design, or digital product/business analysis
- Fluency in interaction and visual design, design systems, responsive layouts, end-to-end product flows, prototyping, and production handoff in Figma
- Ability to articulate critique as a design or UX lead would in a review
- Exceptionally strong written communication
- Detail-oriented, consistent, and comfortable having judgment reviewed and calibrated against peers
- Prior AI training, evaluation, or human-data project experience is a strong plus
- Must be able to work as an independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
