Job Description
Financial Controller leading accounting and financial reporting for VCA Animal Hospitals. Collaborating with leadership to enhance financial integrity and support strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead controllership functions for VCA Animal Hospitals, including accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, and treasury
- Collaborate with MVH stakeholders to align financial practices and ensure consistency in reporting and controls
- Lead all aspects of accounting and financial reporting ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Maintain the integrity of financial records and a strong internal control environment
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and reporting requirements
- Partner with leadership to ensure financial results reflect business operations
- Provide clear financial insights, identifying risks and opportunities to improve performance
- Lead and support finance transformation initiatives including shared services and process standardization
- Drive adoption of automation and digital solutions to improve efficiency
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Related Field
- Master’s degree
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or controllership
- Experience in multi-site, healthcare, or service-based organizations strongly preferred
- CPA preferred
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
