Job Description

Account Manager responsible for driving sustainable sales growth and ensuring customer satisfaction. Managing key relationships and delivering value-based solutions in the automotive sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving sustainable, long-term sales growth while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction across assigned accounts
  • Serve as the primary interface between the customer and the organization, managing relationships with key stakeholders across engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain functions
  • Own full commercial responsibility for your accounts, including business development, sales performance, and profitability
  • Coordinate internal cross-functional teams, ensuring timely execution, alignment with customer requirements, and delivery of value-based solutions
  • Accountable for achieving or exceeding sales and margin targets defined by the Sales Manager, strengthening strategic partnerships, and maintaining superior supplier performance ratings in a competitive and fast-evolving market
  • Leads the direct sales process and achieving sales targets
  • Responsible for visits to current and potential clients
  • Leads the performing of routine account management activities
  • Submits short and long-range sales plans and prepares sales strategies utilizing available marketing programs to reach nominated targets
  • Ensures that clients receive high quality customer service

Requirements:

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Native German
  • Experience with OEM and/or Tier‑1 automotive customers in Germany, engaging at senior levels (Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Program Management)
  • Ownership of the automotive business lifecycle: RFQ participation, commercial input to nomination, SOP ramp‑up, series production, EOP phase‑out
  • Understanding of long‑cycle automotive sales: platform business, volume commitments, price erosion, indexation, margin management
  • Leading cross‑functional internal alignment (Product, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality)
  • Managing commercial negotiations in technical environments, including pricing, change management, recovery actions
  • Building and executing strategic account plans for sustainable growth and share‑of‑wallet expansion
  • Familiarity with German automotive customer culture and expectations
  • Willingness to travel regularly for customer engagement and program execution
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
