Job Description
Accounts Receivable Analyst resolving healthcare claims issues for Cigna Healthcare. Analyzing payment root causes, improving provider operations, and educating internal partners.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with matrix partners to identify, resolve, and improve Accounts Receivable issues using claim knowledge, research, and critical thinking
- Engage, consult, and influence matrix partners to achieve service improvements and minimize contract interpretation
- Drive root-cause analysis trending related to Accounts Receivable resolution
- Lead research into system issues and identify appropriate business-operations solutions
- Manage escalated issues through appropriate workflow tools
- Communicate recommendations for changes identified through root-cause analysis
- Communicate and educate internal partners about issues and trends to minimize errors and improve claim accuracy
- Assess how contract setup, business policies, and technology affect claim payment
- Participate in meetings as a Claim Subject Matter Expert
- Provide education on Accounts Receivable processes to internal partners
- Participate in or lead special-project initiatives
- Achieve or exceed Service Level Agreements
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or higher strongly preferred, or equivalent work experience required
- 3+ years of experience in claims processing required
- 3+ years of experience in claims administration highly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Proclaim and Facets required
- Advanced knowledge of other Cigna claim processing systems preferred
- Intricate knowledge of current claim business practices, policies, and procedures
- Ability to connect claim-business knowledge with technology and claim-payment outputs
- Ability to navigate across business units to identify root causes
- Solid proficiency in Excel, including basic formulas, VLOOKUPs, filtering, and formatting
- Time management, task analysis and breakdown, and resource utilization skills
- Understanding of how results affect provider satisfaction
- Ability to interact successfully with internal and external customers at all levels
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects and work under minimal supervision
- Ability to understand the full claims payment process and its effect on provider satisfaction
- Home internet connection through cable broadband or fiber optic service with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload when working remotely
