Job Description
Associate Director managing strategic oncology accounts for AbbVie, an innovative medicines company. Coordinating healthcare stakeholders, account strategies, and cross-functional commercial execution.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact with C/D-suite stakeholders and Population Decision-Makers at oncology group practices, academic cancer centers, and integrated delivery networks
- Coordinate resources and personnel to meet customer needs, including diagnostic and pathology requirements supporting the approved FDA companion diagnostic
- Coordinate in-field teams and promote cross-functional collaboration
- Develop account strategies and coordinate tactics aligned with corporate objectives and customer needs
- Manage entity-to-entity relationships and optimize consistent care delivery within workflows at scale
- Develop and maintain account plans covering SWOT, strategic imperatives, objectives, stakeholder mapping, barriers, opportunities, and tactics
- Assess and communicate impact by synthesizing actionable information to improve operational access and inform account strategy
- Lead coordination across Commercial, Market Access, and other functions for aligned account strategies and seamless customer engagement
- Engage healthcare decision-makers and C/D-suite leadership to improve care consistency within operational workflows
- Establish long-term entity-to-entity relationships through customer needs assessments
- Leverage business, account, analytical, and product knowledge to support growth in solid tumors and the development portfolio
- Demonstrate role-model behavior and share knowledge across the broader team
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
- At least seven years of pharmaceutical and/or medical device sales experience
- Previous account management experience
- Strong knowledge of healthcare management, landscape, and compliance
- High level of written, verbal, and virtual communication skills
- Excellent business acumen, business insights, and strategic mindset
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and across disciplines
- Experience selling at the C/D-suite
- Confidence, persuasiveness, ability to motivate others, and ability to influence without formal authority
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time; regular air or car travel required
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
- Preferred: background selling a companion diagnostic or oncology testing
- Preferred: previous oncology experience
- Preferred: EMR knowledge
