Job Description
Bookkeeper in real estate managing day-to-day accounting tasks and supporting month-end close for real estate clients. Requires 2+ years of experience and knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for assigned real estate clients, including:
- Recording transactions
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Accounts payable and expense processing
- Support month-end close by:
- Preparing reconciliations and schedules
- Assisting with financial statement preparation
- Ensuring completeness and accuracy of data
- Maintain accurate general ledger records for real estate entities
- Process and review invoices, payments, and expense reports using tools such as Bill.com and Ramp
- Track and record real estate-specific transactions including:
- Rent and CAM income
- Operating expenses
- Security deposits
- Loan payments
- Work with senior accounting staff to identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, or missing documentation
- Assist with onboarding new clients by gathering documentation and setting up accounting systems
- Communicate professionally with internal team members and, when appropriate, with clients to resolve routine accounting questions
Requirements:
- 2+ years of real estate bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with property accounting and multi-entity structures
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (required)
- Experience with real estate systems such as Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, or similar preferred
- Experience with Bill.com , Ramp , and Excel (intermediate level) preferred
