Job Description

Business Development Manager expanding Viant’s Advanced Plastics division and medical device OEM accounts. Driving technical sales, strategic growth, proposals, and revenue across targeted markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate, pursue, and secure new business opportunities for the Advanced Plastics (APS) division
  • Manage RFQ processes, develop tailored technical proposals, and negotiate agreements
  • Develop and execute prospecting strategies focused on priority markets and customers
  • Translate customer requirements, engineering specifications, and application needs into APS solutions with technical teams
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to protect existing business, expand revenue, deepen relationships, and identify new programs and cross-selling opportunities
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with medical device OEM decision-makers across R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and business leadership
  • Meet or exceed assigned new business and revenue targets
  • Monitor customer needs, market trends, technological advancements, and the competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance teams
  • Manage pricing and proposal activities, including quotes, renewals, and price changes
  • Partner with Account Managers and commercial stakeholders on strategic account priorities and growth strategies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; a degree in a related technical or business discipline may also be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development, technical sales, or strategic account management experience within plastics, medical devices, or a related manufacturing environment
  • Proven success generating new business, achieving sales targets, and driving revenue growth with medical device OEMs or other complex business-to-business customers
  • Experience managing strategic accounts and developing account growth plans that expand existing business and capture new opportunities
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings, technical specifications, manufacturing processes, and customer application requirements
  • Expertise in managing high-value, complex client relationships and engaging technical leaders and senior decision-makers
  • Strong understanding of sales strategy, market execution, and pipeline management
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver results
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and technical selling skills
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Capable of building strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting
  • Proven ability to assess the financial and strategic impact of business opportunities
