Job Description
Commercial Counsel advising ElevenLabs, an AI research and product company, on Indian SaaS, licensing, and enterprise transactions. Supporting APAC legal matters, regulatory risk, contract localization, and high-growth go-to-market initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, primarily GTM/Sales transactions in India, including enterprise customer contracts
- Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams on high-growth go-to-market strategies
- Monitor and interpret regional legal and regulatory developments involving data protection, technology, and AI
- Apply legal and regulatory knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment
- Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams
- Contribute to scaling the Legal Team’s commercial function and collaborative culture
Requirements:
- Law degree and qualification to practice law in India
- 7+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience
- In-house experience in technology or SaaS strongly preferred
- Experience working for a US-based or global multinational from India
- Direct experience working with customers inside and outside India
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Ability to manage ambiguity and make timely decisions
- Ability to work independently with cross-functional and global colleagues
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements
- Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property
- Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfers
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
- Qualification to practice law in India is required
