Job Description

Commercial Counsel advising ElevenLabs, an AI research and product company, on Indian SaaS, licensing, and enterprise transactions. Supporting APAC legal matters, regulatory risk, contract localization, and high-growth go-to-market initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, primarily GTM/Sales transactions in India, including enterprise customer contracts
  • Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams on high-growth go-to-market strategies
  • Monitor and interpret regional legal and regulatory developments involving data protection, technology, and AI
  • Apply legal and regulatory knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment
  • Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies
  • Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to scaling the Legal Team’s commercial function and collaborative culture

Requirements:

  • Law degree and qualification to practice law in India
  • 7+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience
  • In-house experience in technology or SaaS strongly preferred
  • Experience working for a US-based or global multinational from India
  • Direct experience working with customers inside and outside India
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and make timely decisions
  • Ability to work independently with cross-functional and global colleagues
  • Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property
  • Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfers
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Qualification to practice law in India is required
