Job Description
Community Growth Partner bridging brand influence and business development at Ververica, empowering real-time data innovation. Focused on community engagement, networking, and building relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Build Communities of Interest: Create and moderate digital spaces (LinkedIn groups, private Slack channels, or localized "meet-ups") where data leaders can discuss industry shifts.
- Act as a connector, introducing industry peers to one another to foster a culture of mutual support centered around Ververica’s ecosystem.
- Monitor social conversations and community interactions to identify accounts that are showing genuine interest, rather than just hitting a lead score.
- Build a credible, high-value social presence to "warm up" target accounts.
- Transform technical insights into digestible social stories that spark conversation and invite comments from key stakeholders.
- Replace cold scripts with "Value-First" interactions—sharing a relevant article, inviting a lead to a community roundtable, or asking for their expert opinion on a trend.
- Determine if a company is a fit by understanding their pain points through organic dialogue and community participation.
- Partner with Account Executives to transition community members into the sales process in a way that feels like a natural evolution of a relationship, not a "sales pitch."
- Act as the "eyes and ears" of the market, telling Marketing what the community actually cares about versus what the data says.
- Maintain a pulse on the "Real-Time" world. You don't need to write the code, but you must understand the *impact* of Apache Flink to speak intelligently with leaders.
- Constantly test new ways to foster community, from audio rooms (like LinkedIn Live) to micro-events and collaborative polls.
Requirements:
- 0–2 years of experience in sales or business development, ideally within B2B tech or data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication. You can turn complex ideas into clear, compelling messages.
- A creative, curious mindset with strong research and storytelling skills.
- Experience using tools like HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ChatGPT or similar platforms.
- Bonus: Experience with open source developer or data communities, or familiarity with Apache Flink, streaming data, or real-time analytics.
- Bonus: Experience with social media, creating content for lead generation, building followership, and influencing.
