Job Description
Director of Business Development driving AI and Search traffic initiatives at Yelp. Building strategic relationships with industry leaders and leading partnerships for task completion.
Responsibilities:
- Advance Yelp's mission: Connect consumers to great local businesses by deeply integrating Yelp’s hundreds of millions of reviews, photos, action links, and business listing data into leading AI and Search platforms and products.
- Work with Elite Partners: Manage relationships with a focused suite of high-value partners (e.g. Apple Maps, Microsoft, Amazon Alexa, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Vagaro, and more).
- Shape the Future: Lead initiatives that drive consumers into Yelp’s flagship apps and websites, as well as frontier initiatives: Voice AI and Yelp’s AI Assistant.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Develop deep working relationships across departments, including product management, engineering, business operations & strategy, marketing, user operations, accounting/finance, legal, and others.
- Data-Driven Growth: Partner with Product and Business Operations & Strategy to measure, analyze, and optimize all aspects of the user acquisition, conversion, and retention funnel.
- Innovate Relentlessly: Deliver innovative in-product experiences that improve user experience, help users reach their “aha” moments faster, and expand Yelp’s conversion funnel at the top (discovery) and bottom (task completion).
- Report & Influence: Clearly and transparently communicate priorities, progress, risks, results, and learnings to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10+ years experience in business development, product, strategy, consulting or finance.
- Passion for Yelp’s product, as well as other consumer AI, internet, and mobile products.
- Strong expertise in creating, executing, and optimizing growth product strategies across traffic acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Proven skill in using AI, product design/mockups, and advanced analytics to motivate stakeholders to execute your business and product vision.
- Proven ability to work productively with product and engineering teams (prior product/engineering experience is ideal).
- Strong network of tech industry contacts, ranging from startups to industry leaders.
- Influential communication skills in all forms: written, presentations, negotiations, and listening.
- Deep curiosity about evolving customer needs, market trends, and new growth technologies and channels.
- Tenacious, can-do, positive attitude.
