Job Description

National Accounts Director leading sales, service, and strategic customer growth for EnerSys, a global industrial battery and stored-energy solutions provider. Managing teams, contracts, profitability, and national accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead national sales and service operations to meet or exceed revenue, bookings, and profitability goals
  • Drive strategic growth within key customer relationships
  • Lead a high-performing National Accounts organization
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment on critical organizational matters
  • Apply knowledge of product lines, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
  • Lead sales teams in identifying growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive environments
  • Hire, retain, evaluate, coach, and develop sales representatives
  • Build relationships with key customers, OEMs, distributors, channel partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Lead territory expansion and strategic market development initiatives
  • Create and implement sales processes, performance metrics, and accountability measures
  • Lead direct selling efforts and manage sales channels
  • Develop and execute sales strategies while maintaining existing customer relationships
  • Develop executive-level relationships with customer decision-makers across multi-site and national organizations
  • Pursue opportunities in industrial, material handling, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, and energy-related markets
  • Collaborate with service, operations, engineering, marketing, and product management teams
  • Manage profit and loss, sales forecasting, margin tracking, and cost management
  • Lead contract negotiations and long-term commercial agreements
  • Represent EnerSys at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and strategic business reviews
  • Create and maintain networks supporting growth, market intelligence, and business development
  • Support organizational goals and long-term business objectives
  • Communicate across customers, team members, and executive leadership
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Supervise employees

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of progressive sales and management experience
  • Proven track record of driving growth and achieving business objectives
  • Experience in the battery, power solutions, and/or material handling industry
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and clearly explain technical electrical systems
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience motivating, coaching, and developing teams
  • Ability to build productive partnerships across functions and organizational levels
  • Strong commitment to customer success
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to influence key decision-makers
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime
  • Must be able and willing to be on-call
  • Approximately 50% travel required
