Job Description

Facilities Manager overseeing manufacturing plant infrastructure, maintenance, capital projects, and safety. Leading technicians and coordinating equipment, contractors, compliance, and emergency preparedness in Troy.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct all facility maintenance, repair, and infrastructure activities
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs for forklifts, compressors, HVAC systems, cranes, ventilation systems, and utility assets
  • Oversee building, grounds, parking, interior, exterior, and infrastructure repairs and maintenance
  • Ensure inspections, testing, certifications, and record retention for critical facility systems
  • Lead facility improvements, upgrades, renovations, expansions, and modifications
  • Manage external service providers, contracts, budgets, and performance
  • Oversee procurement and inventory of facility supplies, safety equipment, and workplace products
  • Maintain employee services, emergency equipment, machine shop resources, and workplace amenities
  • Support capital and development projects from planning through implementation
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing on equipment layouts and facility integration
  • Manage project timelines, contractors, equipment acceptance, startup, and operational handoff
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrades of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, controls, and HMI systems
  • Provide technical support during startup, validation, debugging, and ongoing operation
  • Analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
  • Provide plant-wide technical support for manufacturing equipment and facility systems
  • Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and facility personnel
  • Establish priorities, allocate resources, and monitor performance metrics
  • Participate in workforce planning, training, succession planning, and employee development
  • Champion plant safety and ensure OSHA, environmental, and company compliance
  • Support 5S, continuous improvement, operational excellence, emergency preparedness, and business continuity
  • Coordinate emergency response, facility readiness, and company event logistics

Requirements:

  • Experience with industrial facility maintenance in an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air systems, hydraulics, controls, robotics, and facility infrastructure
  • Experience managing capital projects, contractors, and maintenance budgets
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout requirements, NFPA standards, and facility safety practices
