Job Description
Field Engineer conducting multifamily real estate due diligence for EBI Consulting. Assessing property conditions, repair needs, and future maintenance costs for affordable housing underwriting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive a plan with each new assignment
- Communicate and coordinate with on-site property representatives
- Execute travel planning
- Perform site visits in accordance with the scope of work
- Author reports to meet quality control deadlines
- Conduct Capital Needs Assessments evaluating physical condition, immediate repair needs, and future maintenance costs for multifamily real estate
- Contribute to financial underwriting of affordable housing
- Travel predominantly along the East Coast, with possible nationwide travel, averaging approximately 40% of work time
- Report to the Associate Operations Manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field
- At least 5+ years of professional experience in due diligence consulting preferred; otherwise, relevant consulting expertise in related technical fields is required
- Direct experience serving HUD, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or other affordable housing scopes of work preferred but not required
- Experience conducting property condition assessment reporting for office, retail, or hotel properties valued
- Experience or familiarity obtaining environmental site data for ASTM E1527 Environmental Site Assessments preferred but not required
- Technical background and aptitude to learn and contribute
- Flexibility for scheduled and short-notice travel, approximately 40% of the time
- Ability to travel predominantly on the East Coast, with possible nationwide travel
